La Traviata, an opera in three acts is based on the novel, La Dame aux Camelias by Alexandre Dumas fils. The opera was originally entitled Violetta, after the main character. It was first performed on 6 March 1853 at the La Fenice opera house in Venice. Featuring the famous drinking song, a brindisi, Libiamo ne’lieti calici. This now timeless opera will thrill audiences.

There will be a pre-show talk from the director and cast members at 6pm on Saturday 13th April. This is free and open to all ticket holders from both evenings.
