Pantomime: Beauty & The Beast

Thu 15 - Sat 31 December 2022

Beauty and The Beast pantomime Hastings

Come and join us for the enchanting family pantomime Beauty and the Beast this Christmas. When an arrogant Prince is cursed to live as a beast his only hope of salvation is to find love before the last petal falls from a magic rose. When pretty village girl, Beauty comes into his life is this the chance he has been waiting for?

X Factor stars Amelia Lily and Andy Abraham join the cast of this year’s magical pantomime as The Enchantress and Mr Crust.

Due to the indisposition of Andy Abraham, the role of Mr Crust in Beauty and the Beast will be played by West End leading man and TV personality John Partridge until further notice.
John is a British actor, singer, presenter, and writer, well known for being one of the UK’s West End Leading Men. Appearing in more than 20 West End productions from Cats to A Chorus Line, Chicago to La Cage Aux Folles, and many number one UK touring productions. Most recently appearing in the National Theatre’s production of The Doncastrian Chalk Circle. A much-loved TV Personality, John played the role of Christian Clarke in EastEnders for over 10 years and has appeared on numerous reality shows including The Real Full Monty, Taking the Next Step and Over the Rainbow. More recently he was crowned Celebrity MasterChef Champion and 2020 saw the release of his debut book, There's No Taste Like Home.
Appearing alongside returning White Rock favourites, the hilarious Ben Watson (Billy Pastry) and fabulous dame, Tim McArthur (Nanny Pastry).

Ben starred in a UK tour of Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em this year alongside Joe Pasquale and will be returning for his TENTH panto in Hastings! For Tim, this will be his fifth appearance as the White Rock’s finest dame. Since last year, he’s been busy performing his cabaret show in Chicago and as alter ego Sister Mary McArthur in New Jersey, USA.

Amelia Lily came third in the 2011 series of The X Factor, mentored by Kelly Rowland. The powerhouse singing pop star reached No.2 in the UK chart with her single, You Bring Me Joy. The X Factor finalist has starred in several lead roles in West End musicals and tours including Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical, the Narrator in Joseph, and Whatsername in the Green Day musical, American Idiot.

“I am delighted to be appearing as The Enchantress at the White Rock this Christmas! And Christmas will soon be here, so grab your tickets quickly for what promises to be a Beauty of a panto!” Amelia Lily

Andy Abraham was a refuse collector and bus driver before finishing as runner-up to Shayne Ward in the 2005 X Factor series. The super soul singer’s debut album reached No.2 and was followed by three further hit albums. Andy represented the UK in the 2008 Eurovision Final and he’s toured venues recently with a tribute to jazz legend, Nat King Cole.

“I’ve been in a few pantos and I just love it! I can’t wait to come and have a real laugh. You can expect some big tunes, old and new, and a proper family festive night out.” Andy Abraham

Additional casting includes seasoned performers Nathan Routledge, Jenny Perry, and Richard Lock. And a Junior Ensemble of incredible young, local dancers.

With so many great singers all on the same stage, this year’s panto promises to be X-TRA special!
