Summer Youth Project 2023The Wizard of Oz
Summer Youth Project is a fun-filled fortnight in the summer holidays with a performance of four shows on our main stage. This year marks 20 years of White Rock Summer Youth Projects with its 20th show! Project dates: Sun 30 July - Sat 12 August 2023 We have very limited spaces for our FREE workshop that has been kindly funded by Talent Accelerator in Bexhill. The workshop is designed to familiarise young people with the show and the audition process. Additionally, there will be a Q&A session for parents who would like to know more about the project. Please email lbateman@whiterocktheatre.org.uk to register interest in a space and for an audition pack.
The project began back in 2003 which means The Wizard of Oz will be our 20th production and will bring 100 young people together to create a truly fantastic show. The friendships, experiences and memories that are formed during our projects are wonderfully unique and last a lifetime. The project is the product of a lot of hard work, and it is only through the commitment of everyone involved that the final result is so spectacular. Our participants have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled creative team including a professional Theatre Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, and Technical Team to create a full-scale musical on the main stage of the White Rock Theatre. Our productions feature a live band, professional lighting, sound, set, and costumes – the production this year will even see some of our young actors FLYING!
